Considerations when choosing a kids microphone

Design and functionality – The easier to use and overall functionality the better for little kids. Some are clearly kids toys and others are professional microphones and there is a clear line that should be distinguished. There is a variety here in this review, but we will look into the children’s range, which are usually cheaper and more user-friendly than some of the microphones that need a PA-system connected to play for example. All of the microphones in the review are battery operated and are fully mobile for ease of use. Most kids don’t want to be tied to a lead or want to have to think about the cable tripping them up.

Durability – Having a microphone that can handle the rough-style of handling is crucial when kids of all ages are involved. Some are made better than others and in this review you will be able to see the subtle differences and get an overall rating from me.

Battery life – Some require batteries and others don’t but in this review I have opted to give you more with ones that do need batteries, because of their ease to use, features and overall safety.

Safety – This is fundamental to all parents and all of these carefully selected microphones have passed U.S standard regulations. That being said it is important to make sure they are not too young to be handling devices that could cause them harm. Some kids handle and use items inappropriately, which increases potential risk and that’s why microphones that are not plugged in via AUX and use batteries will always be safer as a general rule. However, some kids can find interesting ways to use batteries, so make sure to fit them yourselves.

Features – Some microphones have pre-recorded songs and keep them entertained for hours. Others have app’s that can be downloaded to a phone that can be controlled via-wireless, which is a cool way to keep up-to-date with the latest content and music.

Design – This is a fun kids microphone and is an easy to use handheld device to help them sing karaoke. There is an easy to use on/off button, play/stop and flashing LED lights to highlight when to sing and when to stop. There is cool features for recording and once done they can playback with an applause that sounds at the end of it. The speaker is fairly loud for the level of technology, but not too loud that the neighbors might start complaining.

There is 10 songs that play via the prerecorded programmed list and with a simple hit on the next/previous button they can move onto the next song. They will soon be a rock-star and love the attention if you encourage them enough, maybe you’ll sing along too and get into the spirit of things. The record feature lasts for up to 100 seconds and allows them to master their technique and vocals. Some of the included songs are mary had a little lamb, B-I-N-G-O and ABCD for helping them learn/develop.

The wireless connectivity allows your child to sing with a paired device via Bluetooth and any sing-along song is fine as long as you have a pair-able device that plays. Another cool feature with this is all the lights and applications for building confidence and timing. A lot of being a musical professional is about timing and aligning with the synchronicity, which starts somewhere, so why not here.

This needs 3 AAA batteries and weighs around 10 ounces, so easy to handle and not too heavy when dropped. Make sure to have batteries and not make the usual mistake of opening with them and not being able to use it. This doesn’t come with batteries and is sadly not included.

This is a ideal gift for your friends kids, your child or even a secret Santa gift at Christmas.

Martheroll Handheld Kids Microphone

Pink Handheld Kids Microphone

This is another child’s microphone, but is clearly a little girls one, although some boys don’t mind using their sisters microphone, especially if it gets them heard.

This is a KTV handheld device with all the latest features and applications, from wireless connectivity to pod-casting and even plays alternative styles of sounds.

The design is easy to use and highly durable for use in the car, on the move and is great for family gatherings. Sometimes the rhythm and music starts to flow, which is when creative energy starts to flow and with the echo-effect and echo-reverberation this will keep everyone guessing what’s gonna be next.

The controls are easy and with the simple on/off and push a button type of volume adjuster this is a great kid-friendly microphone. The speakers are loud and clear with enough sound quality to make listening enjoyable. The shell is solid and designed with an alloy from aluminium, which makes it durable.

This can be used with many different devices and the more the child wan’t to develop the more functions and features the microphone will unfold. The intelligent controls and chip technology means this is ahead of the previous in the review for overall features and functionality, but does obviously come at a price and is more expensive.

This is a fantastic microphone and your kids will love all the wonderful features and function with this portable mini all-in-one karaoke machine, microphone and music playing device.
